Delete Your BookNaKo Account
This page explains how to permanently delete your BookNaKo account, what happens to your data when you do, and what we are required to keep.
The fastest way is inside the app
If you still have BookNaKo installed, delete your account yourself from Settings → Delete account. It takes effect immediately, needs no email, and requires no waiting. Use the email route below only if you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
- Open BookNaKo and sign in.
- Tap the settings icon.
- Scroll to Delete account.
- Read the confirmation screen and confirm.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If the app is uninstalled or you cannot sign in, email us and we will delete the account for you.
- Email support@booknako.com with the subject line Account deletion request.
-
In the message, include the phone number registered to the account
in international format, for example
+639171234567. This is the number you use to sign in. - Include your display name (nickname) as it appears in the app, and the name of the venue you play at.
- We reply to confirm we received the request, and we verify that the request genuinely comes from the account holder before anything is deleted.
How we verify it is really you
We will never delete an account just because someone emailed us and named it. Before we act on an emailed request, we confirm the requester controls the account by at least one of the following:
- Replying from the recovery email address stored on the account, if one was set.
- Confirming recent account details that only the account holder would know, such as a recent booking date and the court or space booked.
How long it takes
- In-app deletion: immediate.
- Email request: we acknowledge within 5 business days and complete verified deletions within 30 days of receiving the request.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, the following is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
| Data | Result |
|---|---|
| Your sign-in account | Deleted. You can no longer sign in, and the phone number is released. |
| Profile details (nickname, first and last name, address, skill level) | Deleted |
| Profile photo | Deleted from storage |
| Venue memberships | Deleted from every venue you belong to |
| Memories (photos and captions) | Deleted, including the stored image files |
| Hearts and reactions | Deleted |
| Follows, in both directions | Deleted |
| Blocks you created | Deleted |
| Reports you filed | Deleted |
| Open play participation | Your identity is removed from every session you joined |
| Notifications | Deleted |
| Push notification token | Deleted. No further notifications are sent. |
| Recovery email address | Deleted |
What is kept, and why
We keep a record of transactions that already happened, because the venue needs them for its own accounting and tax records under Philippine law. These records are anonymized, meaning your name and photo are stripped out and replaced with a placeholder before they are retained.
| Data | Result |
|---|---|
| Court bookings | Kept and anonymized. Date, time, court, amount and status remain; your name shows as “Deleted user” with no photo. |
| Space bookings | Kept and anonymized, as above |
| Food and equipment orders | Kept and anonymized, as above |
Things worth knowing before you delete
- Deletion cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no way to restore an account once it is deleted.
- It covers every venue. If you belong to more than one venue on BookNaKo, deleting your account removes you from all of them at once. To leave only one venue, use Settings → Manage venues instead.
- Your phone number becomes available again. You may register a new account with it later, but it will be a completely new account with no history.
- Venue managers and staff cannot delete their own accounts through this process, because doing so could leave a venue without an operator. If you manage or work at a venue, contact us and we will arrange a handover first.
